On September 16, 2019, in Binh Hang Tay Commune, Cao Lanh District, Dong Thap Province, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Ngang Cai Bay Bridge (Ceragem Hope Bridge 01) was held, with a total construction cost of over VND 500 million, of which Ceragem Vietnam Co., Ltd. contributed VND 220 million.
Binh Hang Tay Commune is a suburban commune of Cao Lanh District, Dong Thap Province, with a dense network of canals and waterways that facilitates agricultural production for local residents; however, transportation remains difficult as many bridges still need to be built to serve daily travel needs.
Ngang Cai Bay Bridge has been in use for 17 years, and its span has been broken for approximately seven months. Currently, it is one of the bridges in severely deteriorated condition; both the bridge beams and deck are heavily damaged, making travel difficult and posing serious safety risks to local residents, especially hundreds of children who must cross the bridge to attend school every day.
Ngang Cai Bay Bridge has been in use for 17 years, and its span has been broken for approximately seven months, resulting in severe deterioration.
In coordination with the Commune People’s Committee and relevant government agencies, Ceragem Vietnam provided financial support of VND 220 million for the construction of a new concrete bridge, measuring 27 meters in length, 3 meters in width, with a load capacity of 5 tons. The construction period is expected to last three months.
Once completed and put into use, the new bridge will serve approximately 500 households with more than 2,000 residents in the commune, and will also help over 700 students from Binh Hang Tay Secondary School and Binh Hang Tay Primary School travel to school safely.
The groundbreaking of Ngang Cai Bay Bridge (Ceragem Hope Bridge 01) carries profound significance. This marks the beginning of the Ceragem Hope Project, which aims to fulfill the company’s commitment to its customers by contributing to the community through social activities. It also serves as a foundation for Ceragem to continue building more bridges of hope, connecting children and residents in disadvantaged areas across the country.
