On November 20, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, granted scholarships to students from families severely impacted by recent floods, helping them overcome difficulties and continue their studies.

On the morning of November 20, despite it being Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, lecturers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, set aside time to organize a gathering to meet, share, and encourage students whose families were facing significant difficulties and losses due to the recent storms and floods.

With the support of Ceragem Vietnam Co., Ltd., the university awarded 38 encouragement scholarships to students whose families were affected by the recent severe weather. The total value of the scholarships amounted to VND 76 million.

The scholarship recipients were not only students with strong academic performance who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, but also those whose families live in areas affected by Typhoons No. 10, 11, and 14. Most of them are from the academically renowned central provinces such as Quang Nam, Quang Binh, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh.

Over the past month, consecutive storms and overlapping floods have caused severe hardships for their families in central Vietnam. Some students lost loved ones, while others saw their homes heavily damaged. The difficult living conditions in their hometowns have led to the interruption of the monthly financial support they previously received. As a result, many students have had to take on part-time jobs to make ends meet and continue their studies in the city.

It is known that the scholarship funds were raised through contributions from individuals across the company’s entire system. Among them were many employees who are alumni of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, and who actively contributed to supporting the younger generation of students.
